VONORE, Tenn. (AP) – An East Tennessee plant is expanding its operation with an investment of more than $37 million.

Nashville-based Carlex Glass Co. makes automotive glass at its facility in Vonore and other locations.

The Monroe County Advocate & Democrat said the expansion is expected to be complete next year and to bring dozens of jobs to the area.

Officials gathered June 11 to break ground at the facility.

Monroe County Economic Development Director Bryan Hall said Carlex is one of the area’s leading industries.
